HARC is a non-profit organisation based in the USA, aiming to improve quality of life by helping community leaders use objective research and analysis to turn data into action. They specialise in using data to help improve the social determinants of health - the conditions where people live, learn, work, and play.
HARC approached the Kartogram team for a complete redesign of their application system. The existing system was slow and outdated, so we completely re-wrote their application system from scratch. We ensured that it performs the same actions as their old application, however we've dramatically increased the functionality and user experience for the HARC team. This new application system (and website) not only operates significantly faster than the previous model, but HARC can now also upload data and results freely and independently in approximately 10 minutes. Previously, they had paid costs for bulk uploads every few years.
Their new admin panel allows for importing multi-sheet excel documents exported from IBM SSPS statistics software. We've also integrated calculation functions that allow the application to output data in a readable format (including representative charts).
For public user profiles, we've added a search history and usage statistics. The overall visual design of the application has been reimagined as well, ensuring that the application is user friendly for a wider audience.
